Well hello friends. I hope you all had a great set of holidays. As my recording is picking up again, that means I am going to be posting more for you.
I talk about the group I’ve been doing a lot of shows for lately. Here is the link to their site. http://the4077th.blogspot.com/
The plan for this year, along with my other goals, I want to do more work on podcasting Stonebriar Casefiles. When I have more information on my status I will let you know.
Thank you for listening. See you next time in the attic.

Voice Actor Spotlight
Tee Morris: Author and voice talent in some of my favorites such as Morevi, Billibub Baddings and he is working on The Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences with the talented Pip Ballantine.
Also, a quick warning that I am given to fits of fan-girldom if I meet you and like your work or find out that you like mine. Hugs will happen if you’re not careful.
See you next time in the attic.

I’m baaaack, and what a whirlwind of a summer it has been.
Cecily Windham went to war and helped to defend the Queen of the East, earning her the Queen’s Favor. She also made it through the entire two weeks without a sunburn, bug bite, or hangover. There were also a couple of songs that she was able to write down for future bardic adventures.
As for me, once I got home and back in the swing of things at work, I went and got hurt, which landed me in bed for the better part of a week. I am still out on doctor’s orders but should be back to work on Monday. Yay, getting back into a routine. No seriously, I am going a little stir crazy even though the past few days I have accompanied Kilted Man on our errands.
So what’s next? Well I’m getting married in less than a month. I am doing what I can in the moments of lucidity to get organized but it is no fast process.
There are also a couple of new audio dramas that I have been cast for. Once they begin posting the episodes I will let you all know where to listen. These shows should be interesting as they both do live rehearsals and sometimes recordings.
After that, NaNoWriMo preparations are on my plate. Did you all enjoy getting snippets of my writings last year? I know that it definitely helped me to continue writing by getting all of your comments of support.
Part of my preparations will be studying up on several cultures and world building. I have an idea for a story that requires a little tweaking and anthropology to make it believable. Thanks to NPR who inspired the topic of the story back in April with a story about the battle of Native American children who were forced away from their families and now there is a legal battle to get them back to their birth parents and their tribes. Here’s the link to the article.
So that’s the plan for now. I will check back in soon with notes on my progress with research. Keep writing.
Greetings and Salutations friends.
As you all may have realized I have been away from my website for quite awhile. This is for many reasons. Absolution is still in the editing phases due to recording errors but is underway.
But what is taking up most of my free time is taking is my explorations with my persona in the SCA. Cecily Windham is getting to be well known as both a bard and a styler of hair. As my research and experimentation grow I am finding that I love doing this. Did you now that the “heathen celts” were the most clean of their time, and wore their hair in many braids to keep it out of their faces as they lived out their lives in the Middle Ages?
Slowly but surely I am getting proficient enough with setting hair to be both functional and beautiful that I want to experiment with selling my services. We will see how this is going to work. I was just at Great North Eastern War this weekend and I have several other people to meet with at Pennsic War over the next couple of weeks to practice more and get a feel for working with various types of hair.
I welcome any comments or suggestions that would help me along.
Recently, folks in RI got to meet Cecily Windham as she was called upon to work hairstyles in our time.
I have found new notes from dear Cecily.
“The days trial used two tablespoons of seed and one cup of water. I had left the seed to sit while I was away. Continue reading

“As the viking market of Birka approaches, I understand that several members of my household will be wearing Elizabethan garments. They have asked me to recreate a specific style that requires me to roll back the front of their hair to give dimension and frame their face. Continue reading
Well well, website readers. We meet again. * suspenseful musical accent* You are probably wondering why I have called you here. I have an announcement to make. I am creating… science.
I know what you are all thinking. “But Laura, you’re a fantasy writer. You can’t possibly know anything about science.” Not so. I happen to be friends with many science writers and love what interesting tid bits they bring to my attention. Continue reading
