Halfway through my first NaNoWriMo and let me tell you, I am tired. This is the start of week 3 and I am at 65% as you can see on my lovely progress meter. As far as the story goes, I have had a thought on the ending and am no longer sure if it will end the same way as I planned. Continue reading
Last night I had my first bout of nano-insomnia. I had been trying to sleep for 2 hours, and still just couldn’t get there even after taking my pain medication. Ugh. So there was nothing left for it. I surrendered to the muses and come downstairs to the freezing cold basement and began to write out the scene that I have been trying to build up to for the past two days. Continue reading
First of all I would like to take a moment to thank SVAllie of www.getfoundconsulting.com for assisting me with updating my side for NaNoWriMo. She really stepped up when I needed help, because while I am comfortable putting up posts, I am still a novice when it comes to websites.
I have made my playlists for writing particular scenes. The reason I do this is that when I am driving I get certain scenes of my story in my head and I am trying to harness that imaginative power for when I am putting my thoughts down into my new Windows version of Scrivener. I am loving it! It is definately very helpful, though I still have my research books and what not for the information that I need.
If you happen to be in the NH area… well let’s not make this exclusive… If you happen to be online and want to see what I am up to as far as NaNo or any other project I am doing goes, follow me on Twitter @LN_DragonSong (Which is also my NaNo name).
Now then, the house is cleaned, I have done my yoga, laundry is done and put away. I’m going to bed early so that I can get started, bright and early tomorrow. I wish luck to all of my fellow participants. And remember, if you get stuck in a plot, it’s time for a fight/sex scene, the legions of hell to arrive, or a velociraptor.
PS Happy Halloween
Hello readers. Sorry for the lack of posts. This whole being recovered thing is new to me and I have much less time for brooding when I am actually enjoying the company of others. Can I just say how awesome it is to actually eat food again! The spy story that I have been tinkering with will have to wait a bit as I am putting it on hold for the highly anticipated NaNoWriMo. That’s right, I am taking part in the writing competition that causes writers to pull their hair out, gain or lose weight unhealthily and causes overall stress as you compete against your own imagination and time. Why did I sign up for this again? Oh yea, because I am hopelessly challenging myself. Continue reading
Alright people. I’ve got 2 hours before my reading on Dragon*Cant. So here’s what I want you all to do. At 3 PM EST I want you all to go to the Dragon*Cant UStream channel and listen to me read. Comment; Ask me Questions; Raise a glass with me. It’s my 25th Birthday today, so I can rent a car now… But I would much rather have all of you fun people there to support my reading and supporting Dragon*Cant.
So what did I choose to read? Continue reading
Attention Readers! Your assistance is needed.
If you are not part of the podcasting or con community, umm, well this post may seem a little strange to you. If you are… then I am pretty sure you know all about Dragon*Con and all the bozos who are there WITHOUT ME! All bitterness aside, some wonderful people: Brand Gamblin, Allison Duncan, and Nathan Lowell; have actually created a site called Dragon*Cant for all the people who can’t make it to Dragon*Con, like me. Makes sense right.
So that being said, I offered (mostly to see if they would accept me) to do a reading for them. Surprisingly, I got a slot on Monday at 3 pm EST. So after a poll on Twitter, it looks like most people want me to read from Prisoners of the Alliance. This is the part where I need your help. I am having a REALLY hard time picking one, cause I like them all so much. So I will post a list here of the Chapters and who they are about. I will chose two episodes to read based on your responses.
**Note** I read male voices very poorly. Continue reading

Walking – By Laura Frechette
I wandered through a monument of conventional learning. Walls of stone, colored with warmth held none, save for where the sun shone brightly through the windows. I followed the light out to the parking lot where dozens of cars baked in the midday sun and wandered some more. Continue reading
