I am home today fighting illness, but after about a 5 hour nap, I was able to see straight enough to get some words out on the page. An unexpected battle took shape at the use of unexpected word choices, but the thing I am most proud of is this contraption that I created for Turik. Here is how he introduces it to Beatrix and Erik.

 ”Not all of border patrol is just beating up people. Sometimes it is kids going out into the world to see what it’s like. Other times it is someone coming home for a visit with family or an emergency that means life or death for someone crossing the border. I use my lie detector and my own discretion in those cases.”

I wandered through a monument of conventional learning. Walls of stone, colored with warmth held none, save for where the sun shone brightly through the windows.
